FAQ

when should i schedule my session?

We consistently book at least three months in advance. High season is in the months of June-October. If you are interested in that time frame, inquire as soon as possible.

Does HZ photography travel outside of west michigan?

Sometimes! Depending on availability, we will travel for destination or out of state weddings at an additional cost. However, during high season, we do not travel for non-wedding sessions. Off season travel is date dependent.

Do you have indoor options?

HZ Photography currently uses a studio in Grand Rapids. Availability for the studio is primarily on weekday mornings and early afternoons.

HOW CAN I PURCHASE A SESSION AS A GIFT FOR SOMEONE ELSE?

Please email HZ Photography directly and we will send you a PDF gift certificate to print to give to whomever you wish. Payment is due to be charged after their session is completed.

What should we wear?

We are always here to bounce ideas off in terms of outfit choices and tips. I typically recommend neutral tones and soft colors. Stick to what you know and look like the best version of yourself!

How DO YOU GO ABOUT POSTING THE PHOTOS OF CLIENTS?

We try to post every session that we take (excluding private commercial and boudoir sessions). We love sharing our work, however, we do understand sometimes people would like more privacy. Please be sure to let us know you are not comfortable with photos being used on social media at or before your scheduled session.

What if it rains on the date of my session?

I have rain dates set up on Wednesdays and Fridays to accommodate for the unpredictable weather in Michigan. The final call for the session will not be made until the night before or the morning of the shoot. If you are traveling from a distance, please reach out to HZ Photography the week of your session to discuss options.

What if I need to reschedule?

Working around work schedules, school schedules, and sports schedules can be very challenging! I will do my best to accommodate for scheduling changes, but cannot guarantee that I will have availability during your ideal time.

How and when will I receive my images?

Final galleries will be delivered via an online, downloadable gallery. Depending on the type of shoot, delivery of images ranges between 3 days-8 weeks.

Do you photoshop?

This is a HUGE question, concern & delicate topic. Photoshopping for blemishes, or other aesthetic purpose is something that must be requested but is not guaranteed and may come at an additional cost. I do my best to flatter the body, encourage concealer on isolated blemishes and/or cuts and bruises to try to make your photos as amazing as possible. Post production in the form of airbrushing, body morphing, teeth whitening & hair color changes are not easily made or encouraged. My goal is to capture true and honest images.

Should you wake up on your wedding day and have an isolated blemish on your face, we will obviously do our best to help take care of that for you so it does not hinder the way you feel about the final product.
